Who We Are

Forward Operators Group is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to suicide prevention, community building, hardship relief, and transition support for veterans, active duty military, first responders, and medical professionals. We are run entirely by volunteers.

Sensitive Information

FOG exists to provide a safe space for people dealing with serious personal challenges including mental health struggles, trauma, and crisis situations. Personal disclosures made within our community are treated with the utmost respect and discretion. Our Help Squad members are trained through the Zero Suicide Institute and follow established best practices for handling sensitive mental health conversations.

We do not share, sell, or disclose personal information shared with our team to third parties except where required by law or where immediate safety is a concern. In situations where there is a credible, imminent risk to life, our team may take action to connect individuals with emergency services — your safety always comes first.

Please note: FOG is a peer support community, not a licensed medical or mental health provider. If you are in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or your local emergency services.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name and email address when you submit a contact form, and payment information processed securely through PayPal when you donate — FOG does not store payment card details on our servers. If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence. We also collect standard web server data such as IP addresses and browser information, used solely for security and spam prevention.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries, process donations, send community updates if you opt in, and maintain the security and functionality of our website. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies for basic functionality including login sessions and display preferences. You may opt out of non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some site functionality.

Third-Party Services

Our site uses PayPal for donation processing, Discord as our community platform, and WordPress as our website platform. Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We use Google Fonts for typography; no personal data is collected through this service.

Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry. Donation records are retained as required for nonprofit financial reporting and IRS compliance. We do not retain sensitive personal disclosures beyond what is necessary for your immediate support.

Forward Operators Group operates a peer support warmline accessible via text message. By texting our support number, you consent to receive SMS messages from FOG peer support staff in response to your outreach. Message frequency varies based on your support needs. This is not a marketing program — all messages are related solely to the peer support services you have requested.

Mobile phone numbers and messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number and message content are used solely to connect you with peer support staff and to coordinate follow-up care.
