Task Force Tabletop is being built out now. We're recruiting Game Hosts, organizing session formats, and scheduling our first runs — pending funding to formalize the program infrastructure. Sign up below and you'll be at the table when we're ready to roll.

What It Is

Connection Built Around the Table

Tabletop gaming — board games, TTRPGs, card games, miniatures — is one of the most effective low-pressure environments for building camaraderie, maintaining cognitive sharpness, and breaking isolation. Veterans and first responders understand mission focus, team dynamics, and structured play. Task Force Tabletop puts that to use.

Sessions are hosted by vetted Game Hosts — veterans and community members who run games online and in-person for FOG participants. No experience required to join. You just show up, take your seat, and play.

This isn't therapy. It's community. But for a lot of people, that's exactly what they need.

Program Flow

From Sign-Up to First Roll

Sign Up
Register as a Game Host or Player below. Tell us your format preference (in-person, virtual, or either) and what kinds of games interest you.

We Build the Table
FOG staff match players with an available Game Host based on format, game type, and location. Groups are intentionally small — 4 to 6 players per session.

You Get Seated
You'll receive session details — time, platform (if virtual), location (if in-person), and what game will be played. No prep required.

Roll Dice. Meet People.
Show up and play. Sessions run 2–4 hours depending on the game and group. The Host facilitates. Everyone else just participates.

Keep Playing
Recurring sessions, campaign continuations, and standing game groups form organically. Discord keeps the community going between sessions.

  • Veterans — all eras, branches, discharge statuses
  • Active duty service members
  • First responders — law enforcement, fire, EMS, dispatch
  • Family members of the above (space permitting)
  • No prior tabletop experience required

  • Virtual — Discord, Tabletop Simulator, Roll20
  • In-person — local meetups as chapters grow
  • Board games — strategy, cooperative, light
  • TTRPGs — D&D, Pathfinder, one-shots, campaigns
  • Card games — deck builders, trading card games
  • Miniatures wargaming — where hosts are available
